形態特徵

An evergreen shrub or small tree, ca. 2–4 m tall; branchlets sparingly pubescent.
Leaves subsessile, elliptic to oblong, (8.5-)9.5–14.7(–18.8) cm long, (4.6-)4.7–6.3(–6.6) cm wide, apex acuminate, base acute, glabrous on both surfaces; sessile to subsessile, 0.4–1.8 cm long; stipules connated, triangle, 0.6–1.1 cm long.
Flowers white, large, 3.7 cm long, 4.8 cm in diam., solitary, terminal or axillary, sessile or subsessile; calyx 5–8-lobed, the lobes linear, persistent; corolla campanulate, base narrow, 5–8-lobed, the lobes obovate or oblong-ovate; stamens exserted, anthers linear; style exserted, stigma capitate.
Fruit a berry, ellipsoid, 1.8–3.5 cm long, l.4–2.0 cm in diam., 5-ribbed, crowned with the persistent subulate calyx-tube, reddish-orange at maturity. Seeds many, red, immersed in the fleshy placenta.

台灣 : in broad-leaved forests at low to medium elevations throughout the island.
世界 : Southern China, Indo-China to Japan.
